Friday night’s college football matchup on ESPN2 features the top two teams in the WAC – at least, according to wins and losses. The No. 15 Boise State Broncos (6-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) are making the trip south to face the San Jose State Spartans (5-2 SU, 5-1 ATS). These are the only two teams in the WAC yet to lose a conference game.
The Spartans have outperformed market expectations, but they’re simply not in the same class as Boise State. The Broncos have been favored by double digits in this matchup every year since they first met in 2001. They’re 7-0 SU and 4-3 ATS versus San Jose State.
Things will be different this year. Boise State is only laying seven points to the Spartans, despite being the highest ranked mid-major in the nation. San Jose State is No. 101 out of 120 FBS teams according to Fremeau efficiency.
