College Football Picks: Arkansas at Texas

Betting on college football is generally easier than taking on the NFL – in college, it’s more about the coach and his program. A team can shuffle players in and out and still get roughly the same results, which means you can look more at the numbers they put up over the years and try to pick out some trends. But the Arkansas Razorbacks (2-1 SU, 0-2 ATS) are different. They’ve replaced both their coach and their most gifted players: RBs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.

It’s going to take Bobby Petrino a while to turn around the Hawgs. Meanwhile, Mack Brown continues to steer the No. 7 Texas Longhorns (3-0 SU and ATS) to victory. Texas has been hamstrung the past couple of years by injuries, most notably to QB Colt McCoy. He’s healthy for the moment, and his 11-1 TD/INT ratio after three games suggests the Horns will do just fine Saturday as 28-point home favorites versus Arkansas.
