College Football Picks: USC at Oregon State

The No. 1 USC Trojans (2-0 SU and ATS) enjoyed the week off. So did the Oregon State Beavers (1-2 SU and ATS). But these Pacific-10 rivals get an early start in Week 5 of the college football season; they face each other Thursday night in Corvallis, with a national audience watching on ESPN.

USC earned the top spot by thumping Virginia 52-7 as a 21-point road favorite. Then the Trojans embarrassed Ohio State 35-3 as a 10.5-point home chalk. That’s the game that really has everyone buzzing about USC. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has seven TD throws and just two interceptions. The defense is stellar.

Oregon State figures to be a tougher test than Virginia, especially after pounding hapless Hawaii (+14) at home, 45-7. They’re 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS at home versus the Trojans in the Pete Carroll Era.
