Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Albuquerque, N.M., two championship belts changed hands at World Extreme Cagefighting 32.

Welterweight champion Carlos Condit (22-4-0) was the only champion to keep his belt, taking out dangerous challenger Carlo Prater (21-6-1) in the first round. Prater opened the fight by slamming Condit to the mat but quickly found himself caught in a tight guillotine choke that forced him to tap out.

The victory was triple-sweet for Condit, as Prater had previously defeated him in 2004. Not only did he avenge the loss, Condit did so in front of his hometown, while defending his belt.

While Condit passed his test, "Razor" Rob McCollough (15-4-0) lost the lightweight belt to challenger Jamie Varner (14-2-1). In the first round, McCollough thwarted repeated takedown attempts by his opponent, but failed to mount any offense. Again in the second, "Razor" showed good defense, but did not counter-attack.

With the crowd boo'ing, McCollough opened up in the third, knocking out Varner's mouth guard during a wild exchange. Strangely, Varner made a "time out" sign at the referee and asked for time to recover his mouth guard. Referee Steve Mazagatti obliged him, allowing Varner to recover. Later in that round, Varner hit McCollough with a flurry of punches that sent him slumping to the mat, badly KO'd, to end the bizarre match.

Bantamweight champion Chase Beebe (13-2-0) also lost his title. Overwhelmed by challenger Miguel Torres (20-1-0), Beebe lasted less that 4-minutes before tapping out from a tight choke-hold.
