For the second time in as many games, Spanish striker David Villa is being touted as a hero.

Coming off a hat-trick in Spain's 4-1 routing of helpless Russia, Villa buried the match-deciding goal two minutes into extra time against a respectable Swedish club.

The goal, which can be attributed to beautiful pass up the left side of the field, gave Spain the 2-1 advantage, one they would hold onto as time expired.

After striking first at the 14 minute mark, off a corner kick-turned-ball-relay capitalized by Fernando Torres, Spain then surrendered a goal to Sweden 20 minutes later.

The Zlatan Ibrahimovic marker at 34 minutes knotted the game and gave the Swedes hope that they would hold onto for the rest of the first half and much of the second.

The win gives Spain sole possession of first place in Group D with two wins and a four goal differential. In all likelihood, though not official, it is a position they will hold onto for the remainder of round robin competition.
