When Elton Brand opted out of his L.A. Clippers contract, many thought he wanted to stay in Los Angeles but was trying to raise his market value. And after former Golden State Warrior Baron Davis signed with the Clipshow, it seemed like he was a lock to stick around and form a playoff squad.
Well, we were wrong. Brand has signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The deal can't be finalized until Wednesday, which is the first day NBA teams can officially complete signings and trades following the annual leaguewide moratorium on roster changes, which began July 1. The Sixers must first make a trade to clear up some cap space: they'll be sending forward Rodney Carney, and center Calvin Booth and a future first-round pick to the Wolves.
Other NBA Moves
- ESPN is reporting that the Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement with former L.A. Clipper Corey Maggette.

- Another Golden State Warrior has been lured to another team. Mickael Pietrus has signed a deal starting at $5.2 million.
