Ewing, Olajuwon, Reilly, Vitale Elected Into Hall of Fame

The 2008 Naismith Hall of Fame class has been selected today and Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, coach Pat Reilly, and broadcaster Dick Vitale were among the inductees.

Ewing and Olajuwon are known as being two of the 10 greatest centers of all time. Ewing averaged 21 points and 9.8 rebounds in his 17 years in the NBA, 15 of which were spent with the New York Knicks. Olajuwon averaged 21.8 points and 11 rebounds with the Houston Rockets and won two world championships.

Reilly has coached five NBA champions, four with the Los Angeles Lakers and one with the Miami Heat. And broadcaster Vitale has been a popular broadcaster since 1978-79. This was the fourth time Vitale was nominated.

Adrian Dantley, Immaculate coach Cathy Rush and NBA team owner Bill Davidson were the other inductees.
