Exclusive Interview With Bob \"The Beast\" Sapp

"The Beast" talks about his loss to Jan "The Giant" Nortje at Strikeforce, his MMA career and his line of Japanese sex toys.

Talking with Bob "The Beast" Sapp is a strange and terrifying experience. It isn't every day you meet someone who's 6 feet 4 inches tall and 356 pounds of solid muscle. But the really disconcerting thing isn't just Sapp's size but his tendency to answer every question the same way: bellowing out craziness and punching at the camera in full "pro wrestling" style. It's hard to keep the flow of your interview going when any stray elbow could knock you through a wall.

Bodog Nation caught up with "The Beast" at Bodog Fight Presents Strikeforce at the Dome on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Tacoma, Wash.

Bodog Nation: Talk about how you got into martial arts.

Bob Sapp: After some bad luck in the NFL, I was recruited into WCW and had some great success there. And right before I got my television contract, they went bankrupt. Down and out, I did a tough man fight where "The Beast" emerged and I took on "Refrigerator" Perry. I ended up getting a knockout. That caught the eyes of the K-1 staff and they called me. I took a trip over to Japan, and I spent four and a half years in Tokyo. Currently, I have done 70 commercials, 4,000 television shows. I've been on the cover of over 100,000 magazines. There are 400 products with my name or likeness, and that includes making the cover of Time magazine and selling over 200,000 copies of the latest CD, It's Sapp Time.
