In the fall of 1991, five freshmen stepped onto the practice floor at the University of Michigan, too precocious to know that they would change the face of NCAA basketball forever.
Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson – the Fab Five – represented how much impact first-year players could have on the collegiate game. The quintet led Michigan to back-to-back National Title games and changed college basketball in a way nobody had ever seen.
Until now, that is.
This year, there's a Fab Five for the 2K8 generation. They're not teammates, and they don't play in the same conference. But there's one thing all these fabulous first-year phenomena have in common: they're taking the collegiate game by storm.

Some say it's premature to call Michael Beasley the best player to ever wear a Kansas State uniform. Does he deserve mention alongside the likes of legends Rolando Blackman and Mitch Richmond just months into his collegiate career?
If he doesn't, he should soon.
