Fedor Emelianenko is \"Being a Pussy\" Says Tim Sylvia

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia says top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko is "being a pussy" about his choice of opponents.

According to 15rounds.com, Sylvia (24-3-0) says Emelianenko (27-1-0) has to step up and face other world-class fighters if he wants to keep his reputation as the best heavyweight in the world.

“I think he’s being a pussy," he says. “I think Fedor is very good, but you have to fight the top level competitors all the time to keep that status and he is just not doing that.”

Emelianenko fought twice in 2007, defeating Matt Lindland (20-5-0) in St. Petersburg at Bodog Fight: Clash of the Nations in April and taking out Korean giant Hong Man Choi (1-1-0) on New Year's Eve at the "Yarennoka" event in Japan. In both matches, he forced his opponent to tap out due to an armbar.

After losing his title to Randy "The Natural" Couture (16-8-0) in March, Sylvia defeated Brandon Vera (8-1-0) by decision in October. With Couture's departure from the octagon, "The Maine-iac" is scheduled to fight for the interm heavyweight belt against Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira (29-4-1) at "UFC 81: Breaking Point" on Feb 2 in Las Vegas.
