If you're looking for betting value, it doesn't get much more undervalued than American soccer. Team USA has the talent and money to compete internationally, but at the professional league level (the only place where it counts in the public eye), soccer has been greeted in the U.S. with the same enthusiasm as the metric system.

That probably won't change in the aftermath of Team USA's outstanding performance at the Confederations Cup in South Africa. The Americans reached the final by upsetting Spain 2-0 on Wednesday, cashing in as +900 underdogs. Then on Sunday, they scored twice on Brazil (-500) before succumbing to a furious second-half onslaught and losing the championship 3-2.

Did you see this game? Team USA was all over Brazil like a wet blanket in the first half. You have to feel pretty good about this team's chances going forward, especially with Everton's Tim Howard in goal.
