After a stint with the Toronto Blue Jays, Frank Thomas is going back to Oakland.
The Oakland Athletics have signed designated hitter Thomas to a one-year deal for about $337,000.
Thomas, 39, had a stellar season in 2006 with Oakland. Hitting 39 home runs with 114 RBIs in 137 games.
The Blue Jays had grown tired of his slow start and .167 batting average and decided to part ways with Thomas Sunday.
The A's are looking for a boost after ranking 18th in RBIs in 2007 and 17th in 2008.
Thomas was in the lineup Thursday batting cleanup for A's.
