HGH (Allegedy) Works: Pettite On Track To Start For Yankees

Sure, it was only 36 pitches during a 10-minute bullpen session Wednesday, but New York Yankees fans will take it.

That might be all it takes for Andy Pettitte to be ready for the MLB opening week.

Pettitte - who spent more time this offseason talking to Congress about steroids and HGH than he did working on fastballs and curves - seems ready to start the 2008 Major League Baseball season in time for the third or fourth start in the Yankee rotation. Pettitte is scheduled to throw a minor-league game on Saturday and the club will then re-evaluate the stifness of his injured back. It is believed that all signs do point to him starting the season with the big league club and make a start in the opening series against Toronto.

"It makes me feel good that I got through that and I felt good," Pettitte told the Associated Press. "I could just tell that I felt a whole lot better this morning when I woke up. It loosened up nice for me."

Sure sounds like someone is feeling good. Here's hoping Brian McNamee wasn't involved.
