The Wild, 17-7-3 on the season and sitting with the most points in the Western Conference, are coming off a 5-3 win in Anaheim on Sunday night in which Nick Johnson scored the game-winning goal in the third period.
Dany Heatley, Casey Wellman, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, and Cal Clutterbuck also scored for the Wild in that contest, with Matt Cullen picking up three assists. Josh Harding made 24 saves on 27 Ducks shots to record the victory.
The Sharks will be looking to bounce back from a 5-3 loss at home against the Panthers on Saturday night, putting them at 14-8-1 on the season.
Logan Couture potted a pair of goals for San Jose in that losing cause, with Jamie McGinn adding the team's other marker on the night. Backup netminder Thomas Greiss got the start against Florida, allowing five goals on 35 shots in the contest.
The Wild and Sharks also met in San Jose on November 10, with Minnesota getting tagged with a 3-1 road loss on that night. Patrick Marleau had two goals in that win for San Jose, who were the -176 favorites on the NHL betting lines in that day's UNDER result.
In their last 10 meetings San Jose has earned eight wins against the Wild, with the OVER/UNDER at 5-4-1 in those 10 games.
Minnesota's hot play of late hasn't translated to a big rise in the Stanley Cup odds yet, as they're back in the pack at 30/1 to win the championship. The Sharks are holding down 9/1 odds to win the title this season.
