IndyCar Odds: Kentucky 300

IndyCar odds wind their way to Kentucky this weekend for the Kentucky 300. At this point, Indy fans are probably growing a little tired of seeing Will Power or Dario Franchitti cruise into victory lane, but it will likely be more of the same this weekend.
Power leads the IndyCar standings this season, but could the wheels finally be coming off? The Team Penske driver started third at the Peak Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300 last weekend, but he skidded his way to a 16th-place finish. Before that, Power had finished either first or second in his last five races. The Australia native has five wins to his credit this year, not to mention another eight poles to pad his lead.
Franchitti took advantage of Power’s lapse and earned a victory last week. Though he only has three wins to Power’s five, Franchitti is also on a great roll; he’s finished at least third in six consecutive races, including wins in two of his last three starts. In fact, the Target Chip Ganassi Racing driver hasn’t finished worse than fifth in his last 10 racings, allowing him to grab hold of second place in the IndyCar standings.
Scott Dixon ranks third among Indy drivers after a disappointing eighth-place finish at the Indy 300 last week. That broke a string of three straight finishes in the Top-5, including a win at Edmonton in late July (Dixon’s second victory of the season). Dixon, who teams with Franchitti on Target Chip Ganassi Racing, has finished among the Top-5 in eight of his 14 starts this year.
Ryan Briscoe is another driver worth keeping an eye on. Ranked fourth in the Indy standings, Briscoe has just one victory this season. He’s managed to place among the Top-5 in half a dozen starts, however, and he’s consistently in the Top-10. Last week he didn’t have his best stuff, though; Briscoe placed 11th.
