WBC super bantamweight champion Israel Vazquez (42-4, 31 KOs) and Rafael Marquez (37-4, 33 KOs) have fought twice before and each boxer holds one win over the other. On Saturday, March 1 in Carson, Calif., they will meet for a third time.
Currently, Vasquez is the -180 favorite to beat in the Bodog Sportsbook while Marquez is the +150 underdog.
Vazquez lost his title to Marquez a year ago, forfeiting the bout due to an injured nose in the seventh round. In a rematch, Vasquez knocked out Marquez in the sixth round. Now, with the rubber match on the horizon the Mexican-born champion says he's ready to beat his rival again.
"Marquez is going to have to fight me," he told the media after a recent workout. "I will push him around. I will put pressure on him to get him off his rhythm, to make him change his strategy. If he wants to beat me, he has to fight me blow-by-blow. No other way around it."
