On the heels of Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach getting axed last week after allegations that he mistreated a player who had suffered a concussion, another college football coach has been fired for player mistreatment.
After a three-week investigation, South Florida University fired Jim Leavitt after finding that the coach grabbed one of his players by the throat and slapped him in the face during halftime of the Bulls' Nov. 21 game against Louisville. In a letter to Leavitt, the university said that their investigation "independently corroborated statements of persons found to be in the best position to observe your conduct."
Leavitt told the Associated Press that the allegations are "absolutely false" and that's he's "disappointed" by the university's decision.
