Portland State was the face of fear as the 16 seed touched gloves with 1 seed Kansas and the first half showed exactly why many have Kansas to finish as NCAA champions. The Jaykawks, finished the first half 8/14 from 3-point land and up by a cool 25. They never looked back.

The team shot nearly 55 percent from the field and was led by forwards Darrell Arthur and guard Marion Chalmers who were a combined 14 of 20. Star guard Brandon Rush finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
