The leading man for the Cleveland Cavaliers is usually LeBron James. But Monday in Orlando, Larry Hughes was the star, scoring a season-high 40 and leading his side to a 118-111 win over the hometown Magic.
The Cavs were 9.5-point dogs so obviously covered, plus paid out +350 on the moneyline. The total flew well over the posted 197.
Hughes was huge, but it wasn't like James took the night off. No. 23 had 29 points with 10 assists.
The win was a big one for the Cavs, who got blasted 113-83 last night at home to Denver.
"It was definitely frustrating," James said after the loss to the Nuggets. "We know we can play better. It was one game. That's something we can fix."
Fix it they did.
For the Magic, the loss was their third in four outings, though they still hold a big lead over Washington in the Southeast standings.
