The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a hitless win on Saturday over their American League Rival Los Angeles Angels by a score of 1-0.

If you're confused, you're not alone.

With the bizarre win, the Dodgers become just the fifth team since the turn of the 20th century to record a victory despite not registering a hit.

Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver teamed with relief pitcher Jose Arrendano to lock down the Dodgers offence, but it was a Weaver error in the bottom of the fifth that resulted in the sole run.

Despite the fumble in the fifth Weaver had been sitting on a six-inning no-hitter but was pulled in the seventh for a pinch hitter.

The Angels who were blanked on the evening managed five hits on the game.

Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley walks away with the shutout win in seven innings of work, striking out seven along the way.
