March Madness 2009: Much Ado about Nothing?

Sports bettors searching for upsets came up short when playing against the top-ranked teams this weekend. The No. 1 through No. 3 seeded teams went a collective 17-7 ATS.

There are no Cinderella teams, no huge upsets, and all No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeds advanced to the Sweet 16.

So what is the big deal?

If you stop looking for dark horses, upset specials, and those dramatic stories about schools you have never heard of, you still have some amazing basketball.

For those who watched the opening weekend, you know there were a few games that could have gone the way of the major upset. Louisville, Pitt, and Michigan State were all sweating more than they wanted to.

That is what makes college hoops great. There is always the chance of something amazing happening, and the games this week should fall into that category.
