After nearly a year away from competition, Matt "The Law" Lindand (20-5-0) is ready to return to the top of the middleweight ranks.

According to MMAWeekly.com, Lindland has signed a three-fight deal with a new fight promotion, but Lindland isn't ready to announce all of the details yet. "I'm kind of holding off" he says. "I can tell you I signed a very nice contract for three fights within the next twelve months."

Lindland's last fight was nearly a year ago at Bodog Fight: Clash of the Nations against top-ranked Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko (27-1-0). "I know it's been from April of last year," Lindland explains. "It's almost like I went into retirement or something."

The event is rumored to be a co-promotion between Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and mixed martial arts clothing company Affliction. According to Lindland, his first fight will be June in Las Vegas.
