If Bill Parcells wanted to put his stamp on the Miami Dolphins, well, he's certainly achieving that goal.

After releasing nine players earlier this week, Parcells made the bold move today of cutting linebacker Zach Thomas, who has played with the club for 11 seasons.

While the move has not yet been made official, sources within the organization say that the move will likely come this afternoon.

Thomas, 35, is a seven-time Pro Bowler and has registered more tackles than any LB currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's been widely identified as the face of the Miami defense and has recorded more tan 1,500 tackles for the Fish.

But there were several factors working against him. Thomas missed most of last sason due to migranes stemming from a concussion he received during an October car crash. He's going to turn 35 in September and has a hefty salary - $5.65 million base - for the upcoming year.
