Minnesota Twins Have Streak Snapped At 10

The Minnesota Twins had their 10-game winning streak snapped Saturday at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers.

With starter Livan Hernandez at the mound, the Twins fell 5-1 on a series of early Milwaukee runs.

The twins were held to just three hits all game as Brewers left-hander Manny Parra put a stop to the Twins offense that had done so well in series against the Nationals, Diamondbacks and Padres over the past two weeks.

In seven innings of work, Parra struck out six and allowed zero runs. The sole Twins run came off of a Jason Kubel homerun in the ninth inning.

The 10-game streak, as impressive as it was, fell far short of the 21 set by the 1935 Chicago Cubs.

Elsewhere in Major League Baseball the Toronto Blue Jays survived a late game scare to take down the Atlanta Braves thanks to a solid night from Vernon Wells and a ninth-inning Mike Lowell home run propelled the Boston Red Sox to an 11-10 victory over the Houston Astros.
