Apparently the Colorado Rockies like the chemistry of last year's National League pennant-winning squad. Management is doing everything to keep the group together.
The club announced Wednesday that outfielder Brad Hawpe has signed a three-year, $17.4 million contract. The deal now makes Hawpe the fourth key Colorado player to be re-signed following the first World Series appearance in franchise history..
Colorado also agreed to long-term deals with:
- RHP Aaron Cook ($34.5 million over four years)
- SS Troy Tulowitzki ($31 million over six years)
- Reliever Manny Corpas ($8,025,000 over four years).
LF Matt Holliday will also be around for the forseeable future, having agreed to a $23 million, two-year contract which took care of his arbitration. Next up? 3B Garrett Atkins, who many figure will also get a multi-year deal.
