The Los Angeles Dodgers will surely be sizable road chalk when they meet the Washington Nationals in Game 1 of their three-game set tonight, even if Clayton Kershaw won’t take the ball for Joe Torre.

The Dodgers were hoping Kershaw would start tonight against Livan Hernandez, but a lingering shoulder injury will push him back to at least later in the week.

Hiroki Kuroda toes the rubber instead for the Dodgers, who are 6-2 against the moneyline in their last eight road games.

L.A. comes into the series with wins in five of its last six ballgames, while hapless Washington has dropped five of its last six contests.

The teams split the two games played at Dodger Stadium back in May.
