MLB Baseball Odds: San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants

Some observers predicted a breakout by the San Francisco Giants (-145) on MLB baseball odds this season—but nobody could have foreseen the hard-charging San Diego Padres (+125).

Young lefty Wade LeBlanc (2-0, 1.16 ERA) has been a massive part of San Diego’s impressive run. Last week, LeBlanc allowed just two runs in six innings of work against Colorado.

LeBlanc has faced the Giants just twice in his brief career, but he was brilliant, going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA.

The resurgent Barry Zito (5-0, 1.49 ERA) will start for San Francisco. Zito has yet to allow more than three runs in a game this season, and he looked sharp in last week’s 3-2 win over Florida. Zito surrendered only one run in seven innings.

Zito doesn’t have a great record against the Padres, however. The southpaw is 3-6 with a 4.17 ERA in 16 career appearances (15 starts).
