The New York Yankees will be baseball betting odds underdogs when they run into a red-hot Scott Kazmir in the finale of their three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels this afternoon.

Kazmir was a surprise addition from the cash conscious Tampa Bay Rays at the trade deadline, and he’s certainly making a case to be in the Angels’ starting rotation come playoff time.

Los Angeles is 3-0 against the moneyline over Kazmir’s last three outings, during which the southpaw has put up an impressive 1.42 ERA.

9-3 in their last 12 games as an underdog, the Yankees send A.J. Burnett to the hill to match up with the hardthrowing lefthander.

New York is 18-12 in Burnett’s 30 starts this season, but bettors should take that with a grain of salt: Burnett has a 5.79 ERA in day games for the Yanks.
