MLB Baseball Picks: Red Sox at Rays Series

The Rays host the Red Sox in a huge AL East series this week, as Tampa Bay clings to a slim one-game lead in the division. The Rays have lost two straight, while the Red Sox have won two in a row. Either way it looks as if the loser of the division will, at least, nab the AL Wild Card.

The first game of the series in the Sunshine State is a great matchup featuring Dice-K (16-2) and Scott Kazmir (11-6), as both hurlers have an ERA below 3.00. The Rays have the best record in the majors at home (53-21), and the Red Sox are three games under .500 on the road (36-39).

J.D. Drew may miss the series opener with a bad back, and the Rays have a slew of injuries to key players, which is one reason the Red Sox have gained ground in the race for top spot in the AL East.
