MLB Betting: Indians at White Sox

Jose Contreras looks to lead the surging Chicago White Sox to a fifth straight victory over the last-place Cleveland Indians tonight when the AL Central rivals continue a three-game series.

After opening this year 0-5 with an 8.19 ERA, Contreras used time in the minor leagues to save his season and, most likely, his career. The righthander is 3-2 with a 2.17 ERA in five starts since being called up from Triple-A Charlotte.

Contreras is 5-2 with a 3.23 ERA in 13 starts against the Indians, including 3-0 with a 2.03 ERA in his last four.

Tuesday’s 10-6 victory was the 15th in 21 games for the White Sox, who have pulled within two games of AL Central-leading Detroit.

Cleveland, which has lost six of seven on the road, hands the ball to lefthander Aaron Laffey after its ERA ballooned to a major league-worst 5.34 following Tuesday’s loss.
