MLB Betting Lines: Cardinals at Dodgers

Chris Carpenter looks to win his eighth straight decision and remain undefeated against the Los Angeles Dodgers as the St. Louis Cardinals go for their ninth win in 10 games tonight.

St. Louis has capitalized on Los Angeles’ inconsistency, going 14-4 since July 27 to take a five-game lead in the NL Central. The Cardinals have played especially well lately, taking eight of nine in series against Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and San Diego.

The Cards haven’t needed many late comebacks with Carpenter on the mound. The righthander is 7-0 with a 2.10 ERA in eight starts since the beginning of July.

The Dodgers hope to have more success against Carpenter after delivering a strong offensive performance in a 9-3 win on Sunday.

Charlie Haeger will make his season debut on the mound for Los Angeles. The righthander has gone 11-6 with a 3.55 ERA in 22 starts with Triple-A Albuquerque this season.
