It was a bad day all around for the San Diego Padres. First, they learned outfielder Milton Bradley was lost for the season with a torn ACL in his knee after a freakish play at first base on Sunday. Then the Padres went out and got clobbered Monday night by lowly San Francisco, 9-4, falling into a tie for the National League wild-card spot. San Diego is now in a dead heat with Philadelphia, which had the night off, for the playoff spot.

Randy Winn was 4-for-5 and Omar Vizquel was 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the underdog Giants, who paid +127 on the moneyline (meaning a $100 wager would net $127 profit) at AT&T Park. With less than a week to go in the regular season, the Padres are in danger of blowing a postseason berth they should've had wrapped up days ago. But things have come undone quickly for San Diego, punctuated by Bradley's injury. He was called out at first base on Sunday but charged toward the umpire to protest the ruling.

Padres first base coach Bud Black, wanting to keep his player from doing something that would get him kicked out of the game, grabbed Bradley and tossed him to the ground. Bradley's cleat got caught in the turf, twisting his knee and causing the injury. For complete MLB odds for Tuesday, visit the Bodog Sportsbook.
