MMA News: Derrick Noble vs. Chris Wilson at Sportfight

Mixed martial arts veteran Derrick Noble knows he's in for a scap on Saturday night in Portland.

Facing Team Quest fighter Chris Wilson in the undercard of Bodog Fight presents Sportfight XX: Homecoming, Noble says he's ready to take the fight wherever he needs to.

"It’s going to be a tough fight," he explains. "Chris is a tough guy. He’s tall, which I think he uses to his advantage well in his fights. He’s got some long strikes, really good knees. I think every fight I’ve seen of his, he’s landed a hard knee to the body on somebody, so he likes to throw the knees. He also is pretty good on the ground too. He looks like he’s well rounded but I’m ready for it. It should be good."

Training at the Minnesota Mixed Martial Arts Academy alongside Bodog Fight welterweight champion Nick "The Goat" Thompson (33-9-1) and UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk (33-3-0), Noble says he's ready to take his MMA career to the next level.

"I moved up here about six months ago," he says. "The last two years of my career have been kind of so-so. I was in grad school so my training was kind of on a day-to-day basis depending on where I could train and who was available. I just kind of floated around from gym to gym. I always had really good guys, but it was nothing consistent. Now it’s consistent and I’ve got a team that’s behind me.  It’s stable. I’ve got a program. Everything is really good and I feel really good for this fight."
