Speaking at a press conference on Oct 22, Fedor Emelianenko (26-1-0) said he'd be honored to fight former UFC champion Randy Couture (16-8-0).

"I'm very pleased to hear that Randy Couture thinks so highly about me," he said. "I deeply respect him, and I've been watching him since his very first fight, and I've admired him all the time. Once we met in Prague. He came to watch a show, and he left really warm feelings. He has grown up very much, and nowadays he is the strongest fighter, and it would be an honor for me to fight him."

Couture resigned from the UFC on Oct. 11, citing their inability to sign Fedor as one of the key reasons.
