All hail the king.

Tuesday June 12, mixed martial arts gladiator Spencer “The King” Fisher (21-3-0) won his rematch against Canadian fighter Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout (12-2-1) in the latest UFC Ultimate Fight Night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida

In their first encounter, in March of '06 at UFC 58: USA vs. Canada, Fisher was a last minute replacement and was forced to cut 20 pounds in less than two days. Stout was able to win that match by majority decision, dominating the striking while avoiding Fisher’s dangerous submissions.

This time, however, Fisher came into the fight looking healthy and prepared. From the opening bell, “The King” reigned with sharp counter-punching and unpredictable striking combinations. Stout returned fire but, after three rounds, the judges awarded a unanimous decision to Fisher.

“I think it should have been a draw,” he said after the fight. “He hit me just as much as I hit him, so I’m sure they’re will be a part three.”

Jon Fitch (18-2-1) continued his slow but steady rise through the 170-pound class with an impressive win over Jiu-Jitsu fighter Roan Carneiro (11-5-0). Carneiro dominated the first round with takedowns and submission attempts and nearly had Fitch sunk in a choke at one point, but the wrestler from San Jose, California worked himself free. Turning the tables in the second round, Fitch got on top of his Brazilian opponent and unleashed a barrage of punches to the face. Seconds later, he sunk in a tight rear naked choke and Carneiro tapped out.

Afterwards, Fitch commented on the choke Carneiro put on him in the first round. “It was pretty tight,” he said. “I saw some tweety birds there for a second but then I pulled out and I was fine.”

In the under card, Drew McFedries (6-2-0) and Anthony Johnson (4-0-0) both won with brutal KO’s early in the first round. Thiago Tavares (15-0-0) put on a Jiu-Jitsu clinic, dominating MMA veteran Jason Black (22-2-1) before finishing him with a triangle choke.
