Tamdan “The Barn Cat” McCrory knows his days as a welterweight fighter may be numbered.

McCrory, who fights fellow 170-pound prospect John “Doomsday” Howard on Saturday at UFC 101, feels he could soon be one of the division's biggest competitors.

While he has no immediate plans to jump up a weight class, especially when his height and reach give him so many advantages in the UFC's stacked welterweight division, he knows additional growth could force a change of plans.

McCrory and Howard, both veterans of the Northeast fight scene, are familiar with each other's style. That's why McCrory knows he'll need to be fully prepared for this weekend’s fight.

McCroy is listed as a -165 favorite to get the job done, while Howard is the +135 underdog.

Once Howard and McCrory lose the awkward kinship and become two guys vying for positioning, this fight will really take off.
