Yao who?

That's the message put forth by the Houston Rockets in recent weeks. After their franchise center was lost for the season with a stress fracture in his foot, the Rockets have gone on a tear for all tears, moving their winning streak to 16 straight games - setting a franchise record for consecutive victories in the process.

Wednesday night, the Rockets pounded the Indiana Pacers 117-99, led by Tracy McGrady's 26 points. Houston is now a perfect 4-0 since losing Yao and have been spurred on by the play of McGrady and surprising big men Luis Scola and Carl Landry, who have been great in helping their team win 20 of its last 21. As for the current streak and its historical context? Houston's last 15-game winning streak was in the Rockets championship season of 1993-94.

Houston is even getting contributions from little-used bench player Chuck Hayes. Against the Pacers, Hayes went for a season-high nine points and 11 rebounds.

Indiana can not boast similar success to that of Houston. The Pacers have lost three of their last five, seven of their last ten and are on the outside looking in to the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Houston came into this contest as a 10-point home favorite and covered the spread running away. The game sailed over the posted total of 203 points in the Bodog Sportsbook.
