NBA Basketball Odds: Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers

The game every basketball fan has been waiting for finally arrives on Christmas Day: The rematch of last year’s NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles.

Neither team has suffered any kind of sophomore slump after reaching the Finals last season. Boston at 27-2 is off to the best start in franchise history and that’s really saying something when you consider the illustrious history of the Celtics. Boston also set another record on Tuesday night after beating Philadelphia 110-91. The win was Boston’s 19th in a row, also a new franchise record.

The Lakers finally started to look like mortals last week after back-to-back losses to Miami and Orlando. But it didn’t take long for Los Angeles to bounce back with a win over Memphis and a 100-87 rout of New Orleans on Tuesday night.

On Thursday the Lakers will get to see how they might have fared against Boston in last year’s Finals with both Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum healthy. If it makes a difference on Thursday it could be the X-factor if the Lakers and Celtics meet up in the NBA Finals again.
