NBA Basketball Odds: Orlando at Atlanta

Instead of any major offseason moves, the Orlando Magic (-140 to win the Southeast) merely tinkered with their roster this summer, adding free agent Mickael Pietrus from Golden State.

The Magic of course don't need to change that much because they have what every other NBA team wants, a dominant big man. Dwight Howard is ready to put Orlando on his back and take them to the top of the East. Tonight they continue to prepare for the regular season when they take on the Atlanta Hawks (+2200 to win the Southeast).

Hawks coach Mike Woodson has 10 returnees to work with, including his entire starting five and all but Josh Childress from the limited bench rotation he used most of last season. Now that he has a legitimate roster littered with seasoned pros and as balanced as it’s been during his time here, the true measure of what Woodson brings as a coach should be on full display.
