The Los Angeles Clippers have granted Sam Cassell one final wish.
The club announced Thursday that they've waived the 38-year-old point guard so that he could entertain offers of joining a contending team. It is widely speculated that he'll be joining the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics to reunite with former teammate Kevin Garnett. The pair developed chemistry and played exceptionally well together in Minnesota, taking the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals.
Despite missing significant time this year with injuries, Cassell has still been effective averaging 12.8 points and 4.7 assists for the lowly Clips.
Cassell has championship experience, having won back-to-back championships with the Houston Rockets in his rookie and sophomore years (1994-95)
Neither the Clippers nor Celtics are in action tonight, but that doesn't mean that NBA Betting is off the table.
