The Houston Rockets have lifted off and it’s thanks to their dynamic duo.

Houston romped over the Atlanta Hawks, 108-89, on Saturday night for their 10th win in 11 games. The Rockets easily covered the point spread at home, where they were favored to win by 9.5.

Yao Ming scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Houston, which is 15-4 in its last 19 games and is on a six-game roll. Yao’s runningmate, Tracy McGrady, is healthy again and contributing. He had 15 points in the win while emering Luis Scola added 14 points.

If they keep winning, the Rockets are assured a playoff spot. They’re currently in ninth place in the West. "We've put ourselves in a great position to keep on moving up," McGrady said. "We're playing extremely well."

No shit, T-Mac.

In other notable NBA action on Saturday:

Utah 97, Chicago 87:
Carlos Boozer had 22 points and 12 rebounds as the Jazz got back to their winning ways. Their 10-game winning streak had ended with a loss to Sacrament on Friday night, but Boozer and Co. handled the Bulls without much difficulty in Salt Lake City. Underdog Chicago did manage to cover the point spread, though. Utah was favored by 12.

New Orleans 112, Memphis 99: David West had 33 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hornets at home, where they were favored by 14.5. Chris Paul had 16 assists but only two points in the win.
