The Philadelphia 76ers (25-24 SU, 24-23-2 ATS) spent $13.8 million this year and got 29 games out of Elton Brand before they had to put him back on the shelf for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

This isn’t good news for the Sixers, but it could be good news for their supporters. Philly is 2-0 SU and 1-0-1 ATS since Brand was yanked from the lineup; and last month’s seven-game SU and ATS streak came while the former Wooden Award winner was on the mend.

The Sixers can operate more quickly without Brand on the floor, just as the Phoenix Suns (28-21 SU, 17-29-2 ATS) were the fastest team in the West before the Shaquille O’Neal trade.
