The L.A. Lakers also have their total regular season wins out, with their total set at 62.5 games. Are the Lakers up to the challenge on NBA odds?

The Lakers didn’t make a big splash this offseason. They do have one great thing going for them though: Kobe Bryant is a hard-working, spiteful jerk. You better believe he was keeping a close eye on the whole Miami fiasco, and he’ll be primed to show up the Heat.

But Los Angeles won only 57 games last year and, for the most part, the roster remains the same. Moreover, key veterans like Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Lamar Odom are another year older. Much like the recent Spurs championship squads, these guys are learning when to turn it on, and when to save some gas. Don’t expect a wild regular season—Kobe and Co. will save it for the playoffs.
