NCAA Basketball Picks: Stanford at Arizona State

What an agonizing road trip for the Arizona State Sun Devils (21-7 SU, 15-9 ATS). They lost in overtime at both Washington (-3.5) and Washington State (+1) to fall out of contention for the top seed in the Pac-10 tournament. But ASU can still nail down the third seed, starting with a win against the Stanford Cardinal (16-11 SU, 15-9-1 ATS).

The Cardinal were on a serious money roll earlier this year, but they’ve lost eight of their last 10 conference games at 3-6-1 ATS. Saturday’s 75-63 victory over USC (+2) ended an 0-4-1 ATS slide – that was on Senior Day, so it might be difficult for the Cards to reproduce that emotional effort on the road Thursday.

Arizona State won this matchup 90-60 as 1-point road dogs back on Jan. 2 to open the Pac-10 campaign. Stanford had taken five of their previous six meetings at 4-1-1 ATS.
