The NCAA coaching carousel continues as UCLA has fired coach Karl Dorrell:
"Karl has represented this program with dignity and class. He is a true Bruin and I respect what he has accomplished in his five years as our head coach, particularly off the field," UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said. "But, at the end of the day, the focus has to be on results and I felt that a change was in the best interest for the future of our program."
Dorrell's buyout will pay him just over $2 million.
After beating the Trojans 13-9 on Dec. 2, 2006 many Bruins fans felt the team was ready to break out in 2007, however, despite returning 20 starters, they didn't. The Bruins went a dissapointing 6-6 and lost 24-7 this Saturday in the 2007 rematch with USC.
