NCAA Football Odds: LSU Survives North Carolina 30-24

After dominating a depleted 18th-ranked North Carolina squad in the first half, No. 21 LSU nearly suffered one of the most dramatic upsets since coach Les Miles took over the Tigers.
Unfortunately UNC tight end Zack Pianalto couldn't hold on to what would've have been the game-winning touchdown -- pending the extra point of course -- and the Tigers edged UNC 30-24.
Going into halftime the Tigers led 30-10, stifling quarterback T.J. Yates and the Tar Heels offense. However, in the second half LSU let UNC hang around, and the Yates capitalized with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
LSU nearly sealed their fate when they gave the UNC offense to opportunities to take the lead, failing to recover an onside kick and fumbling the ball with 2:31 seconds remaining, but their defense made plays on fourth down and in the endzone to prevent the improbable comeback.
NCAA Odds had UNC as +8 underdogs in the contest, understandable considering 18th-ranked Heels were missing 13 key players because of NCAA investigations over player relationships with agents and possible academic violations.
