NCAA Football Odds: Troy at Florida

As the overwhelming favorite to repeat as national champs, the Florida Gators were not tested in their season opener against Charleston Southern.

The competition is not expected to get much tougher in their second game Saturday when the top-ranked Gators host the Troy Trojans.

The Trojans, who opened this year with last Thursday’s 31-14 loss to Bowling Green, have dropped eight straight against ranked opponents since defeating then-No. 14 Missouri in 2004.

One of those defeats came at the hands of Florida.

In the only other meeting between these schools, the then-No. 4 Gators beat Troy 59-31 on Sept. 8, 2007. The game wasn’t as close as the final score indicated, as the Gators built a 49-7 halftime lead.

The Trojans allowed 389 yards against the Falcons last week and were run over for 500 in their last meeting with the Gators.

How is an overmatched Troy team even supposed to compete?
