NFC Championship Playoff Football NFL Betting: Giants at Packers

It seems as though we can't have conference championship weekend without a Manning playing quarterback. Although this time, it's the younger of Archie's kids who is doing the business.

Eli Manning will lead the upstart New York Giants into Lambeau this Sunday to take on Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. Just a year after brother Peyton led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl victory, little Eli has a chance to make himself some history as the football Giants will look to win their third straight playoff road game. The Giants started their trek on wildcard weekend by snuffing out the Buccaneers, then caputred an improbable 21-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys, a team that defeated the Giants twice during the regular season.

Green Bay, meanwhile, has some storybook potential of its own in the shape of 38-year-old gunslinger Favre. His majestic season continued in the snow last Saturday as his Packers whipped the Seahawks, 42-20. While Favre was at his usual best, the game really belonged to unheralded RB Ryan Grant, who recovered from two early fumbles to run for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

Some Betting Trends To Consider:

  • NY Giants are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games on the road
  • NY Giants are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of the NY Giants last 9 games on the road
  • NY Giants are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games
  • Green Bay is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
  • Green Bay is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games at home
  • The total has gone OVER in 7 of Green Bay's last 8 games
  • Green Bay is 18-3 SU in its last 21 games

Currently, the Giants are seven-point underdogs in the Bodog Sportsbook.
