NFL Betting Preview: Ravens Now Take Aim at the Champs

The Ravens nearly handed the New England Patriots their first loss of the season on Monday night. Now, they look to knock off the Super Bowl champs.
Denied by a confluence of bad penalties and poor coaching decisions down the stretch, the Ravens dropped to 4-8 overall and a woeful 2-10 against the point spread. They’ll want to avenge last year’s home playoff loss to the Colts in another primetime matchup.
Kyle Boller, who had a superb game against the Patriots, will rely again on Willis McGahee to move the ball down the field. If those two leaders can power the offense the way they did Monday night, the Ravens have a chance to pull the upset.
The Colts (10-2 overall, 7-5 ATS) may have reason to relax in this one. They all but secured the AFC South crown last week by beating Jacksonville, their top division rival. Peyton Manning and crew are in a peculiar spot. A win and a loss by Pittsburgh at New England and the Colts are pretty much locked into the No. 2 spot in the AFC. They hold a tiebreaker over the Steelers and with only one team with a winning record remaining on their schedule the Colts seem assured of a first-round bye when the postseason starts. So motivation may be a factor.
