NFL Football Betting News: Bears Cut Ties With Muhammad

In a somewhat surprising move, the Chicago Bears have severed ties with longtime receiver Muhsin Muhammad.
While the news isn't jaw-dropping given his decline in production - Muhammad caught 64 passes in 2005, 60 in 2006 and only 40 last season - the timing is strange given that Chicago's No. 1 receiver, Bernard Berrian, is about to become a free agent.
Muhammad was a solid-if-unspectacular performer with Chicago. He started all but one game during his three-season spell and turned into one of Rex Grossman's favorite receiving targets. But at 34, Muhammad is far removed from the gifted wideout he became in Carolina. His best season came in 2004, where he caught 93 balls for 1405 yards and 16 TDs.
Early rumblings suggest that Muhammad might re-sign with Carolina and re-unite with former WR partner Steve Smith.
